The main reason that things worked out better this time is that the directors, Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, take the saga back to its origins. The film brings back everything we love from the first installment of the year 2.

It also helps that, although previous films insisted on having a duration of three hours, Dead Men Tell No Tales lasts just over two hours.
